Competition Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

The competition is open to entrants worldwide, except where prohibited by law. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older, or have reached the age of majority in their country of residence. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of Uncharted Territories are not eligible to enter.

2. Entry Requirements

  • Design format: A2 (420×594 mm) or 18×24", portrait or landscape
  • Submit a screen-resolution preview: JPG or PNG, max 10 MB
  • The winner will be asked to provide the full print-resolution file (300 dpi minimum) separately
  • Work must be original. Any third-party elements (photographs, fonts, illustrations) must be licensed for commercial use
  • Any use of AI tools in the creation of your entry must be disclosed in the submission form. Entries that include undisclosed AI-generated content may be disqualified
  • Submit via the online form by 11:59pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on 22 July 2026

3. Intellectual Property

If you are not the winner of the competition, you retain full ownership of the design. By entering, you grant Uncharted Territories a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, display, and share your entry for editorial and promotional purposes only, related to the competition itself, and not for monetization or resale purposes, with attribution to you as the creator. For the winning entry, an exclusive commercial licence is granted in exchange for the cash prize, allowing Uncharted Territories to produce and sell print editions of the design. If your entry is not a winner, Uncharted Territories might contact you to purchase the rights to produce and sell print editions of your design.

4. Promotional Use

All entries may be featured on the Uncharted Territories website, newsletter, and social media channels with attribution. By entering, you consent to this use. You will always be credited as the creator of your work.

5. Prize

The prize is US$1,000, paid by bank transfer or other mutually agreed payment process within 30 days of the winner confirming acceptance in writing. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative. Uncharted Territories reserves the right to substitute an equivalent prize where necessary.

6. Judging

All eligible entries will be displayed in a public gallery where visitors may like entries and leave comments. Public engagement will inform but not determine the outcome — final selection rests solely with Tomas Pueyo. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

7. Amendments & Cancellation

Uncharted Territories reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the competition at any time and without notice. In the event of cancellation, no prize will be awarded and no liability will be accepted for entries already submitted.

8. Withdrawal

You may withdraw your entry at any time before the winner announcement by contacting us at staff@unchartedterritories.co. Withdrawn entries will be removed from the public gallery and all associated data deleted.

9. Governing Law

This competition and these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes arising in connection with the competition will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Delaware.
